About
Slow Travel Tales

Asam Church - Munich, Germany
Welcome to Slow Travel Tales, the publishing company founded by Peri Kittell.
There are many opportunities to study abroad, work remotely, and travel after retirement. Slow Travel Tales endeavors to share practical knowledge about pre-trip planning and tips for living abroad on a budget.
Peri grew up in a family that loved to travel the world. As a youth, she lived in Austria, studied German, and worked as a counselor in a girls' boarding school.
Years later she took a sabbatical to study and live in London. At retirement, she made a three-year plan to live abroad in eight different European cities. Now, she considers herself a global citizen.
Peri encourages you to form a slow travel plan, to step out of your comfort zone, take a chance, and live in a foreign city.
If you're able, give that experience to yourself; you'll always cherish those moments.
Bon Voyage!

Activity Planning
-
You can easily live abroad within a fixed budget by adopting some new habits. Think of it as being a local resident instead of being a tourist in a foreign city. Slow travel living means continuing to live a similar lifestyle to the way you would in your own hometown.
-
Get to know a European city by staying in an apartment for a month or longer. The flat type, size, and neighborhood matters, so do your research and choose carefully. The goal is to find the best residence you can, in a nice location, with good transportation options and a rental cost within your monthly budget.

Learn more about Art and Culture in Europe, including museum and cathedral visits, educational opportunities, and events to participate in.
-
European history and architecture go hand in hand. Just by walking in your city's neighborhood, you'll be immersed and amazed. Although we might be living in Europe on a budget, many European museums and galleries offer free entry.
